OUR STORY
In December 2018 news broke that a woman died in jail after being held there for over 5 months. Her bail was $100. This woman spent the last 5 months of her life trapped in a 9 by 11 cell, essentially rotting till she passed. After reading about this and other stories similar to hers, and with my prior knowledge of the corrupt justice system I was disgusted. I was disgusted yet motivated, motivated to help out as many people to get out and stay out of this criminal justice system.

After discussing with Prince George's County Delegates, Prince George's Department of Social Services officials and the Office of Public Defenders, I decided to create the first community bail fund specific to residents of the county.

Our mission is to provide freedom and support to Prince Georgians who would otherwise be detained pretrial due to their socioeconomic status. We are driven by the overwhelming belief that a rich man and a poor man should receive equal justice in our judicial system.
