PRINCE GEORGE'S COMMUNITY BAIL FUND
HOW WE OPERATE
Prince George's Community Bail Fund works as a revolving bail fund. Which means that after we bail out a non-violent Prince George's County resident and they appear for their court date, the money returns into the bail fund so we can continue to bail out mothers and fathers sitting in jail simply because they're too poor to pay for their freedom.
Once they are bailed out we support them through coordinating and linking them with re-entry programs so that they don't fall victim to an unjust criminal legal system. Some of the programs include: resume workshops, career fairs, group therapy sessions, and financial mentoring services.

CAREER CENTER

A key part of our organization's goal is to provide a smooth transition from incarceration to a safe housing environment. This is why we are partnering with local community based organizations such as Shepherd's Cove to provide as much housing support as we can for our returning community members.
With our organization’s mission always in mind, we strive to find more ways of helping our community members. A major reason why recidivism is so high is that those who are released do not have the proper social and emotional support in place once they are let out. We aim to decrease the recidivism rate by connecting our clients to social services such as food pantries, laundry services, bill assistance and mental health professionals.
At Prince George's Community Bail Fund, we are dedicated to providing second-chance career opportunities to our clients. We believe everyone should be provided support in finding a meaningful career path. This includes providing them with access to resources such as resume workshops, educational counseling for those looking to go back to school and help with job applications.
